Two girls + Camera x Taco Bell = A photo being uploaded on Facebook…

…As I type this, while recovering from my brain ‘freeze’ from the strawberry Frutista Freeze.

Yeah so while waiting in line in the drive-thru at Taco Bell, a girl gets out of the Saab with Mass. plates ahead of me and stands in front of the menu. There goes a flash. No not like that! From a camera lol! Then another girl joins her from the driver’s side in a cute dress no less and they pose and take a picture. This was at around 1:45am just a while ago. Now this tomfoolery would be fine in Winter Park, FL. Oh but no, I’m in Vernon, CT right now and it’s was 32 degs out, with a lit drizzle happening. Sure I got a kick out of it, no harm no foul. I’m just wondering, when not if, they are going to upload those photos on Facebook or whatever. In a little while I’ll be searching Flickr with keywords like “Taco bell drive-thru”, “krazy friday night” and “black guy with afro laughing behind us”. LoL.

Oh and poo poo on Taco Bell for ending the three steak burrito promotion! Yeah it was going to end at some point but damn it sucks when you want that and you hear “sorry that promotion ended” and thinking “wonder what the blondes ahead of me got?” Same thing happened with the Grande steak and cheese quesadilla:(

Motion Graphics Branding Project – Pixel Junk Eden

Oh snap, son jay did it to em. Yeah in their face 2x’s!

Oh hello, just wanted to pump you guys up. LOL. Any hoot, here is my print ad and 30+ second video, I created for motion graphics class at Full Sail. We were to choose a product or a cause and create a layout for it, like for a magazine and a 30 second video. We could use all the effects but not video or 3d.

At first I was going to do something with Crop Over and have a lot of dancing and celebrating going on to represent it. I had the music, the pre pro but, I just couldn’t figure out what to do with it. Everything was due at 5pm on Friday, Dec.19. I didn’t get anything done until, on Tuesday, Dec. 16, when I decided to scrap the whole damn thing and go with Pixel Junk Eden, a game I’ve been playing on and off for weeks. Yes ladies and gentlemen, all the assets I made for this project in Photoshop and Illustrator and were put together in After Effects, was done in less than four days!!!

Here is the original print ad I showed during critiques:

The main complaint, oops I mean critique I got from the teacher was that, in my video it had different graphics in the background and here it’s just a black background. I was trying to recreate the main menu for the game here and in the first 10 seconds of the video.

Here is two others I create using the assets from the video, both during my flight from FL to CT!

I like the pinkish one, it’s pretty.

AND FINALLY here’s the video. We were only allowed 30 seconds and I did that for the critiques but, while on xmas break I wanted to extend the video just a few seconds more to tweak somethings here and there. Seriously who opens up After Effects during their time off school? Jmo does. I wanted to recreate the opening main menu as well as the gameplay for Pixel Junk Eden:

I learned a lot this time around for example; the pink tower with the yellow curves used the stroke effect and I used that through out the video with the silk and black tree. Whoa what a long post! So while doing some shopping and looking around the mall to see what changed(finally they got rid of KB Toys!) when I was approach by a lady with some lotion in hand extending it to me. Ooohh free lotion! Sure I’ll take some! Gotcha noob! Lol. So she hooked me in and this conversation followed:

Lady: So doing some last minute shopping, for the ladies in your life…
/thread jack, Sports Center guy just shouted out a kid from Winter Park, FL. Near Orlando he said. Kool beans!/end thread jack.
Jmo: Yeah there’s just to many to count.
Lady: I like your hair.
Jmo: Thanks!(This fro is getting so much attention!)
Lady: Is there a finger nail you don’t like?
Jmo: Ummm, *looks at hands*
Lady: *Takes my right ring finger and starts working on it with a rectangle thing* So this material is from the red sea.(something like that)
Jmo: k.
Lady: Do you like magic?
Jmo: Well it’s a illusion really…
One min. later with some more scrubbin and talkin
Lady: Look how nice it looks.
Jmo: *Looks at finger* Whoa thats shiny!
Lady: So all this can be your as a gift for your mom, for only 69.99…
Jmo: *Steps back* Well my finger nail is really shiny but, that too much.
Lady: Well got any sisters?
Jmo: Yeah…
Lady: Well I can offer you this one and this for…
Jmo: I’m going to have to pass. It was a really good demonstration and a nice product…
Lady: Ok(seems a little mad that she wasted five minutes of her time)
Jmo: Have a good one…*slowly backs away, turns around and walks briskly away.

Man what a story, looking at my nail hours later it’s still relatively shiny! Kind of felt bad and would’ve gotten it but, dang finger nail cleaning package, you too much!

Later I saw Rico, a friend from MHS, said whats up to him and he gave me a complement about my afro. Really I should have had this thing years ago./thread jack again. WOW Dave Letterman just talked about a lady asking him about the dead sea and mins later he was getting a facial right in the mall. What are the fucking odds! I just spent 20 mins typing this post out and Dave gave this little snip before doing the top 10 list! *Mind Blown!*/end of thread jack.

Maybe I should grow my hair out a least once a year from now on. Maybe. Oh and it’s Christmas eve now, I hope I get some new socks tomorrow!

Motion Graphics Bumper – Yo! Jmo

Ah, you thought I forgot about you, huh blog? No worry’s, I gots some post for you.

Here is my 15 second bumper that I create for my Motion Graphics class at Full Sail. We weren’t allowed to use any effects expect for Color Correction and Blur & Sharpen effects. When the video starts up you see “Yo! Jmo” in black letter with a bunch of different patterns around it. The letter then transform to Y all the way to o, using the patterns, ending up the patterns in the letters at the end. Assets were created in Illustrator and Photoshop. Put together in After Effects.

My bumper(and the name of my blog) is a throw back to the logo for the Yo! Mtv Raps show that aired during the 90’s. The music is Paper Planes(instrumental) by M.I.A.

Rant/Oh and I’ve been trying to put the image of Yo! Jmo from pictured up top and trying to get the right size for the damn thing. I was getting so frustrated with the wordpress image header croping bullshit. Maybe if I give wordpress $10 a year, I might be able to fit the whole damn image for my header!/end rant

Did You Know? Quicktime has filters edition.

So while actually paying attention in class, I learned something neat today. Our teacher was showing a example of a text in quicktime and it had this filter on it. Then he asked if anybody knew that Quicktime had this in the settings. Well no, I didn’t, so he showed us and I will show you.

First take a clip or anything thats .mov and select FILE Export.

Then click on Options.

Next click on Filter.

And here you will have five differents settings to change to the video.

Pretty neato right? So you take a 50% grey solid from AE, export it and then add this effect to it. Then bring it back to AE and take that grey out with dissolve and you can use it. Thats one of the examples the teacher told us.

Also I just ate a really good philly cheese steak. Mighty tasty.

…follow the leader!  Oh man that song is so great.  So I’ve been listening to a socamix102 from DJ Ghetto D while working on my bumper.  I busted out this link Trini Jungle Juice from my bookmark and it has alot of soca music from the islands.  

There’s a lot of great classics that me and my sisters would party too while riding in the van, in Barbados.  Be sure to check out Timmy – Bumper Catch A Fire, Pong – ABC Highway and Kimberly Inniss ft Lil Rick – My Hips.

Listening to the soca mix got me ‘thinkin’ about my branding project and I thought it would be a great idea to do it on Crop over. Yeah it’s not a product or anything like that but, it is different and I’m sure they will let me do it. One thing I’m worried about that project would be the assets for it. Making assets for our motion projects requires a lot of time and work for me at least. Creating assets to represent Crop over and the whole soca music thing feels daunting and I’m still have my bumper to complete! None the less, I sketched out some scenes and ideas for it.

Speaking of my bumper, thats coming out fine as I play around in photoshop and hopefully get some work done this weekend. We’ll see how that plays out. Here’s a little taste:

Lockout? Nah, lil lizard gots my back.

Alright about an hour ago I was locked out of the house.  After crying for about 15 mins, my roommate told me to go around the back door.  So I headed around back, jammed the handle real hard and presto it openo!  But I quickly noticed something krazy ass hell:

Oh snap, that lizard got pwned.  Poor little guy, he got caught between the door at the wrong place, at the wrong time.

Damn look at what this blog has become.  Three posts in and Im already showing dead animals.  LOL.  Alright got to do laundry, ugh.

Out with the jungle, in with the snow.  Also there is going to be a new free climbing mechanic and stealth gameplay.  With this annoucement being in December, I wouldn’t be surprised if the game was released in the summer.

Oh hello, blog world,  Jason Moore here.  Just want to say hi to you before I start blogging.  Ah so here I will be talking about school, showing my designs, telling you my rants, raves and favs on all sorts of things.  I’ll be talking about alot of random things here and posting videos that I come across.  I hope to keep to thing updated daily or weekly or every now and then or whenever.  So thats it for now and I hope…no YOU better bookmark me and check back often.  So as my first post here, as a hello to the blog design/gaming/sports/krazy world, I will present to you, a monkey sneezing.  Enjoy.
